Comparison of the electronic transitions of unconjugated thiones and imines: an exercise in the application of symmetry selection rules
(The American Chemical Society: Journal of Chemical Education, 1978-08)
The purpose of this paper is to show how symmetry selection rules can be used to determine whether certain of the electronic transitions exhibited by the title compounds are allowed or forbidden by symmetry.
The effect of dopants SiO2, GeO2, and SnO2, on the microstructure and magnetic properties of Mn-Zn ferrites
(1978-08)
Ferrite have found a variety of uses in electronic and
communication engineering. Mn-Zn ferrites (Mn1-XZnxFe2O4 ) are widely used as filter core materials over a range of frequencies
varying from several hundred Hz to ...

Isomerization of the predicted beta-D-fructose 6-phosphate
(Elsevier: Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1978-07)
Phosphomannose isomerase (D-mannose 6-phosphate ketol-isomerase) (EC 5.3.1.8) has been shown to use the predicted beta-D-fructose 6-phosphate as substrate. The fate of alpha-D-fructose 6-phosphate is not determined by these ...

5-Bromodeoxyuridine does not affect development of the sea urchin, Arbacia punctulata
(Elsevier: Experimental Cell Research, 1978-06)
Development of Arbacia punctulata embryos in the presence of bromodeoxyuridine (BUdR) was investigated under conditions which allowed about 20% substitution of BUdR for thymidine residues in DNA. Development was essentially ...
