dc.description | This is the updated information on the Type II diabetes intervention proposal for hispanic populations. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Diabetes Type II is a significant disease for the American population as a whole but has a dramatic impact upon lower income Hispanic populations. The purpose of this study is to deliver nutritional intervention strategies to allow lower income Hispanics to control their diabetes disease process, empowering them to manage their disease over their lifetime. This needs assessment provides an in-depth review of the demographics of the Hispanic population identified as being at risk for improper diabetes disease management. Specifically information was captured about lifestyles, eating habits and daily food selection choices and Hispanic teaching tools available. This information will be utilized to construct appropriate nutritional intervention strategies for at- risk Hispanics with Type II diabetes. | en_US |
