Dynamical systems characterized by automata

Abstract

Automata and Dynamical Systems Theory both rest on a common mathematical structure. In this work the interrelation between these theories is studied, starting with a simple characterization of a dynamical system (and some of its properties) by means of the various subautomata defined by it.
