Stephanie Polowe, associate professor in NTID's English Department, and Simon Ting, instructional developer in NTID's Instructional Development and Evaluation Department, recently were awarded a $1,000 Ronald D. Dodge Memorial Endowment Fund Faculty Grant. The grant is awarded for projects that improve the effectiveness of faculty members who teach deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Polowe and Ting will develop computer support for reading instruction. They will redesign paper course materials for classroom computer presentations, which will then be available through computer access for students to review and study. They also plan to develop a web site to allow interested people to access and benefit from the material.en_US
